Don Kunz of the Bishop Fire Department provided an update for the club about the 4th of July Fireworks program at the airport.  The Fire Department puts this program on each year, but is challenged this year due to funding constraints.  Don explained that the choreographed show costs nearly $30,000 to produce, and that ticket sales from cars entering the airport generates only about one-half of that amount.  The balance has historically been provided by donations from local area businesses.  At least one large local donor has backed out this year and the Fire Department is encouraging everyone in the community (including Rotary club members) to inquire of businesses they have an affiliation with, if they would be interested in supporting this community event.
