The club enjoyed our official annual visit from our District Governor--this year,Vicki Puliz from the Rotary Club of Sparks.  The Board and the "junta" had a working dinner meeting with Vicki Tuesday evening, and then the entire club heard from her at our regular meeting.  Accompanied by "First Sherpa" (her husband) Tim and Assistant Governor Randy Van Tassell, Vicki presented two clubs members with some special recognition--our 2013 Quiet Rotarian Eric Butner, and our 2013 Energizer Ed Morse.  Vicki spoke with us about Rotary's polio eradication efforts, the great work that our Foundation is doing world-wide, but more importantly showed us that she was tuned into our club's activities and talked about many of the great projects we are working on locally.

The day was capped with a candy auction, where homemade candy from Mark Leiser (Rotary Club of Fallon) was auctioned off to benefit the Rotary Foundation.  I don't want to tell you how much was raised, because if our club auction brings in the most, we get more candy--so we don't want everyone else knowing where the bar is set (that is, if we set the bar.  Vicki was being very discrete).  President Elect Ramona and Past President Dianne were the successful bidders--thank you for your generosity.

Pictured below are DG Vicki and Tim with their new Mule Days stuff, and then our lucky candy bidders.
