Our May 1 meeting featured a craft talk from new member Tawni Thomson, Executive Director of the Bishop Chamber of Commerce and Visitor's Bureau. She gave us a great overview of her background, and the important work that the Chamber does both locally and in promoting our area to visitors. Don't forget that when you are serving as a Speaker Coordinator that craft talks are GREAT weekly programs--ask a member (new or old) to talk about what they're doing.
Phil also reported that the Scholarship Committee is up and running--applications are in and they'll be working on their decisions.
The club has also received membership proposals for George Booth (Past President of the Mammoth Lakes Noon Club) and former member Wynn Benti. The Board will be considering them officially next week.
RYE Student Ber also announced that we will be hosting a new incoming RYE student from Italy this fall! Kammi will have more details soon. Don't forget that we're always looking for host families, and Kammi can give you all the details.
