Bishop Sunrise Rotary will be holding a Holiday Party on December 21st from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the new Salvation Army building on Main Street.  Many thanks to Sherry for providing the venue.  Per club tradition, it will be a potluck and feature a white elephant gift exchange (see below for more details).  And of course, significant others and family members are welcome!  As with our other recent social events, the plan is for socializing between 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. with attendees arriving any time before 6:00 p.m.  People will start eating dinner at 6:00 p.m. and the white elephant exchange will follow after that.  The party will end no later than 8:00 p.m.  For newer members who haven't been to one of our club's previous holiday parties, the white elephant gifts are generally not new items but rather gently used items and can be nice or silly in nature -- something that actually might be desirable to the right person but not everyone.  No specific dollar amount for the value of the gift but typically under $20.  The key is that they are wrapped in such a way that the person picking it has no idea what they're getting.  But the gift recipient has the one-time right to trade the gift they just opened for some else's already-opened gift.  Everyone who wishes to participate in the white elephant gift exchange must bring a gift (otherwise there won't be enough).  Jay says he has extra white elephant gifts if anyone needs one.  It should be fun!  Don't miss it.  Note: December 21st is a Wednesday and we'll be "dark" that day for our regular meeting.
