Our first District Conference as members of District 5190 was great!  The "Free the Girls" project, initiated by our club and President Bernadette came to a stunning close with over 9,600 bras collected! That's a lot of bras (in case you're wondering). We really needed the Puliz Moving and Storage Truck to help collect the haul (thank you DGE Vicki and First Sherpa Tim) .  Clubs from all over the District adopted this project and did an amazing job.  Also, less important than that, PDG Tom was more of a presence that he planned on by not only organizing the Rotary Jeopardy performance at the Saturday night plenary session, but also by stepping in at the last minute to present all of the District awards--which kept him busy for every single plenary session.  All of the District RYE students attended, including Ber, for a great program of their own. Nancy was out and about helping with the bras, judging the Club Displays, and enjoying the activities.  Our colleagues from the Rotary Club of Bishop won first place for club displays, with an amazing booth promoting Sierra Safari.  The turnout from all over the District was great and it was huge fun. Make your plans to attend the 2014 District Conference and celebrate our Club, our District, and Rotary!

And this was just a fraction of the bras that we collected!
